‘I’m Ok, I’m Just Tired’ is a 90cm x 90cm abstract painting using cracking clay, gels and pumice paste in pink, blue and white tones on a stretched cotton canvas.

Samuel created this painting the week after finishing his paintings ‘Hay Fever’ and ‘Joie De Vivre’ for his exhibition at the Supawan restaurant.

Samuel wanted to create a painting using colours which reflected his mood, opting for pastel tones and greys over his usual over saturated and vibrant colour palette.

Rather than brushing and flicking acrylics over the textured surface to create his usual high energy composition, Samuel decided to layer colours onto the canvas using solid blobs of colour.

Samuel loves the product of his week of exhaustion and back pain, believing he has taken his dark mood and has created an expressive, textured and joyful abstract painting from it.

The painting is fixed inside a white stained oak frame with a gap between the canvas and frame to show its painted edge. The frame measures 93.5cm x 93.5cm x 3.5cm.
