Lavender Fields is a green and purple abstract painting using acrylics and spray paint over a cracked clay surface on canvas.
Samuel painted a green and purple background in acrylics and spray paint, laid down cracking paste, and then sponged, flicked and brushed acrylic paints over the top.
He used a contrast of dry strokes alongside pouring wet paints and flicks to create a dynamic and energetic composition.
Samuel finished the painting with a gloss varnish to protect the surface and create a reflective element.
Lavender Fields measures 31cm x 41cm and is fixed within a black stained oak frame measuring 34cm x 44cm.
