‘Don’t Look at the Sun’ is an abstract minimalist painting using acrylic paints and cracking paste on canvas.
Samuel created this site specific artwork for his exhibition at the Industville showroom in Spring 2023 to replace a sold painting ‘Daisy Chain’.
Samuel wanted to delve back into his ‘Abstract Forms’ collection and create a unique painting which uses his recently explored technique of splattering acrylic as a finishing touch to his artwork, over a minimalist background of differnt sized dots.
Samuel has used yellow, dark grey and black over a white background to create a composition with energy and chaos, his usual forte.
Don’t Look at the Sun is fixed within a white stained oak frame measuring 94cm x 64cm. There is a gap between the frame and canvas to show the canvas’ painted edges.
