Gecko
Gecko is a commission I undertook during December 2018 for a family home in Shaftesbury, Dorset.
I worked on this large abstract commission from concept to completion, creating a beautiful composition for the clients kitchen renovation.
I used my usual combination of clay and acrylic paints on a hand stretched canvas that measured 120cm x 90cm. This canvas also incorporated sound absorbing foam in its frame to provide some sound insulation to the large hard surfaced room.
I loved the combination of colours I achieved with the acrylic paints, and the liquid paints adds a contrasting element that looks beautiful up close as they melted into each other.
I was given a 3 week lead time for this painting which I managed, ensuring pre-Christmas delivery. This time also included creating a concept proposal and a ‘practice’ canvas which I used to show the clients how their chosen colour combination would work over a cracked canvas and alongside the liquid paints.
